Hello Everyone,

I’m a beginner and I just installed FreePBX on VMware. I created PJSIP extensions.
I installed X-Lite from CounterPATH on my PC and it works I can connect and call.
On PC also I can connect with PuTTY.
But when I try to use Bria or Zoiper nothing works (Request Timeout (408)). Even a simple SSH connection with the Android application"Mobile SSH" fails, from the smartphone browser too. But ssh works from Android to another phone (iphone).
So I figured it’s the PC IP that’s allowed and not the smartphone IP.
I should point out I’m still local.
I go to FreePBX SIP settings and add the ip of my Smartphone 192.168.0.13/24, based on the documentation I also added 192.168.0.0/24 and 192.168.0.1/24 (my router) to be sure.
If I try to add 255.255.255.255 or 255.255.255.0 instead of 24 I have an error.
But it still doesn’t work.

Can someone explain why? And how do we do that?
I hope i do not need to buy a commercial Module for testing phone app under smarphone?
The next step will be to call my FreePBX from the outside I think I should look on the vpn settings side?

In your “Host” setting in the zoiper account settings, are you entering ip only (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx) or ip and port (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:pppp)?

I pulled my hair out till I was putting only ip, and adding the port solved everything!

I tied both, 192.168.64.135 and 192.168.64.135:5060 or 5160.
if a connection was blocked I should see it in the logs but I don’t see anything with the ip of the smatphone.
I tried to add ip’s smartphone on Firewall > Networks as Local or Trusted, still nothing.

Which port are you using? I’ve seen reported that Zoiper only works for some users when using port 5060.

Check intrusion detection if your IP is in the banned list.

Actualy I use 5060.
Under Intrusion Detection i do not see any ip banned and I took the opportunity to add the IP on the Whitelist and restart, but nothing change.
Anyone know why ssh from Android doesn’t work as well? May be the same reason?

it’s look like freepbx accept only ip from “VMware wirtual Ethernet Adapter” (192.168.64.1), because i tested with my other computer in local network same thing Timed out with PuTTY enven if i add his IP.

I tried to use AsteriskNOW also same thing.

I indicate a detail that might be important, during the installation I had to leave it by default otherwise if I choose"Use Bridged Networking" I end up with only one ipv6 (no ipv4) and when I connect with there is nothing working and eth0 is not available.

If you are trying to access it locally you don’t need to open any ports on your router.

You need to set it up with a bridged connection, why you are only getting an ipv6? That might be a network issue on your end.
You can also search on the community how to disable/enable ipv4.

My problem is finally solved, I was looking for the problem in the wrong place, you pulled me out of the wubba lubba dub dub.:hugs:
that was vmware the problem, I checked the box Replicate physical network connetion state from Settings > Network adapter and now it’s working.
What i did exactly:

It’s weird though. I think I’ve never touched configuration before.
Attention: in another facility I could only get it to work when I unchecked Replicate physical network connetion state
