SIP Proxy config

(Simpleman) #1

Hi all. I’m newbie .I have a FreePBX 13 for SIP server and build a Asterisk 13 on Ubuntu 16.04 for SIP Proxy.
So, What is all I need to do in SIP Proxy? . I need some instruction
I think, I need config Trunk in sip.extension between FreePBX 13 and SIP proxy. Dial plan in extensions.conf.
Thanks for readding. Sorry about bad English .

Asterisk is not a SIP Proxy it’s a B2BUA. So basically you have two Asterisk boxes in the mix. Typical things you would do in a proxy will not be available via Asterisk.

What do you need the proxy for?

Thanks for replying .
So, FreePBX will connect with Telco via Proxy. A SIP proxy receives and processes SIP requests from a redirect server or software.

If this is still a thing, I have two observations:

  1. You should be able to set up a trunk to your ITSP. The phones connect to Asterisk. so they are (by definition) connecting via a proxy.
  2. If you want to use a proxy, then getting something like Kamaillo (sic) and using THAT as a proxy would work better.
