Show Ring Group Number only as Caller ID

Hello gurus :slight_smile:

I have a general question. I have a Ring Groups comprising on multiple extensions. When calling from an extenson of that Ring Group, can i see only the Ring Group Number?

Ring Group: 1000
Ring Group Extensions: 101, 102, 103, 104
Other Extensions: 111, 112

When calling from 102 to 111, Caller ID be shown as 1000 only.

My question is, is there a way to show Ring Group numer as Caller ID only?

I am running FreePBX 15.0.17.63

making sure I understand the question…

are you trying to make the callerID displayed to your internal extensions solely the ring group ID?

that is:
external calls (123456) >> ring group
ring group (123) >> Extension?

You could probably hack it with the “CID Name Prefix” on your ring group, just set it to be more characters than your callerID can display…

Set CID Num Alias for each of 101, 102, 103 and 104 to 1000.

if you want the 4 phones to have the same OUTBOUND cid, do what @Stewart1 suggests

if you want callerID displayed to the agent on an INBOUND call, likely the CID Prefix I mentioned
