Sangoma Talk lost connection to PBX reconnecting

Had Sangoma Talk working fine until I switched Asterisk to v20. The next day desktop apps can log in but eventually lose their connection. The apps sometimes eventually reconnect but mostly dont. Deployment is running all latest stable versions of modules. Asterisk log show the extensions become unreachable.

Any ideas out there?

Sounds to me like a network configuration issue but there is not much to go on here to offer to try other then, have you tried moving back to your previous asterisk version?

I haven’t, I was hoping I could fix it so I could stay on v20. But I’ll give that a go tonight.

Reverting back to Asterisk 16 fixed it.

Huh, yea I am not sure why that would be an issue for Asterisk v20. How are you going about upgrading/downgrading between the versions? Are you using the asterisk-version-switch command?

@dobrosavljevic yes sir. Yeah I can’t explain it. I’ve successfully upgraded on several other deployments that are also running Sangoma Talk without issue. The only difference I can think of is this is a bare metal vultr server whereas all the rest of my deployments are on vultr shared CPU VMs.

Don’t think the bare metal vs virtual has anything to do with it. If you upgrade to Asterisk 18 does it also break?

I wouldn’t think so as well. The only difference I could think of is direct access to a physical unshared NIC on the bare metal server.

Unfortunately I can’t test asterisk 18. If it does break it the users will be pretty unhappy after the last episode.
