Sangoma S500 freezing and then boot loop

I have an S500 that was given to me by a friend and I was having problems setting it up. It wasn’t until I blocked rs.sangoma.net on my firewall that it started to behave.

I was then able to complete the setup and use the phone, but as soon as I remove the DNS block on rs.sangoma.net it goes back into the freezing behavior and starts a boot loop.

Is this phone simply broken or has Sangoma crippled it?

On Management → Upgrade, PnP Active set to “No” it seems to have solved the issue. The URLs that it was accessing are:
Firmware Server Path: https://rs.sangoma.net/firmware
Config Server Path: https://rs.sangoma.net/cfg

I have unblocked the rs.sangoma.net domain and the phone is now happy.
