Looking to see if anyone has any information on P-Series and being able to remotely reset them? I know I can re-configure them from the CLI but that is only if they are already provisioned. Trying to be able to reset a phone so it will boot up and grab its ZT provisioning but I don’t seem to be able to. Coming from the S-Series phones, it seems the P’s are still too married to Switchvox and don’t have enough features available on the GUI. Especially the fact they are disabled once provisioned with EPM. Also some information in the GUI like network and Mac would be bare minimum in my opinion…
Can you please share your required features so I can check internally with the phone team. If you want , you can send me email also.
Best Regards,
Kapil
Thank you for this! I wasn’t aware this was an option as the last recommendation I saw was to change it in the base file and that didn’t make any difference at the time. This seems to be what I was after!
With regards to features. It would be good to be able to see basic network information from the webgui. Nice to be able to cross reference mac addresses and things like that. Also the ability to be able to factory reset a phone from the webgui would be a requirement in my experience. I know it is possible to reconfigure from the server cli but that is assuming the phone is provisioned. i have ran into times where a phone wasn’t behaving correctly and being able to factory it would be helpful. On the s series phones being able to point the phone to the autoprovision server from the gui was also a nice to have. With DPMA is it not quite as important but can still be helpful at times. And being able to pull logs from the phone directly aswell like system logs and the pcaps.
It would also be helpful to have the screen watcher and screenshot features as a button in the gui.
As of phone firmware 4.24.x (available earlier this year) the phone webgui does expose buttons for restarting and factory resetting the phone. Available directly at this URL http://<phone IP>/configserver
(always accessible, even if the phone is already provisioned, but requires phone “admin” user and associated ‘login’ password)
Even with a previously configured phone, factory reset is available during the boot sequence using the “3-finger Salute” as documented. For reference: https://sangomakb.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/Phones/pages/17760452/Phones+-+Reset+to+Factory+Defaults
Additionally, and I’ll call this an unpublished feature because I can’t find any documentation on it, factory reset can be triggered directly with this URL (requires phone “admin” user and associated ‘login’ password):
http://<phone IP>/cgi-bin/phone_factory.cgi
Thank you for this and your other feature requests. I will discuss with the team for further consideration.
