We are a health clinic with 5 different locations. Currently using physical Polycom phones. We have a “small” dedicated call center with 8 employees. We use the front desk staff at the other clinic locations (about 30 additional employees) as part of the phone queues. We would like to move to the Sangoma Desktop Softphone for our call center and front desk staff. The issue we have is that the “Front Desk” staff move around from clinic to clinic and are not assigned to a dedicated computer or station at each clinic. The issue I’m having is that the Sangoma Desktop Softphone doesn’t seem to have an option to “install” for “all windows users”. It installs for the currently logged on user and places program files in the User Appdata Local directory. This makes it very difficult in our situation as “front desk” staff are constantly using different computers which they haven’t installed the softphone on. My question is, is there an installation switch or parameter that will install the Sangoma Desktop Softphone for “all users” and then on first-time use of a user on that computer, create the necessary files in their User Appdata Local directory? I’ve done a “workaround” by copying the SangomaPhone folder from an actual install, and copied it to the Windows “Program files” directory and then added a Public Desktop shortcut to the SangomaPhone.exe file in the Program Files directory. This does allow for new users to launch and log into the Softphone, but I’m just not sure what the downside to using it this way would be. Any suggestions or ideas? Thanks.
