Routes not reconnecting after Internet outage

We had an Internet outage around 3am that lasted at least 2 hours last night. By the time it came back up and running, I was asleep. FreePBX did not start working automatically once the Internet resumed - I needed to manually reboot it this morning.

This error repeats itself all night until I rebooted the server:

[2013-08-23 08:18:28] ERROR[1697] res_xmpp.c: No DNS available for XMPP connection when trying to connect client ‘gjameswattgtwynet’

And then it proceeds to log the shutdown/startup of the software. Worked fine upon reboot. I really don’t want to have to reboot our phone system every time there is an Internet outage.

when you say reboot, did you reboot the server or just restart asterisk?

Hi guys

Same issue here unfortunatly. I first tried a reload and a restart of asterisk to no avail. Ping tests to dns names (google.com for example) worked fine but no luck until i actually rebooted the server. Then all came back fine, though I too rather not have to reboot following an internet outage.

Thanks

If you running dynamic how bout running auto configure on network settings under Asterisk SIP settings menu to see if it renews IP?
