Can anyone shed some light on how I can get the Ring Group name to display on my phone after I have dialed the ring group extension? Right now, for example, when I dial 301 I would like it to show “Parts Group” on my phone. Instead it just displays 301 and rings the group.
I had a similar issue with calling extensions, where it wouldn’t translate into the Name. But I used the fix provided by rogermt http://www.freepbx.org/forum/freepbx/installation/internal-name-not-showing-on-attended-transfer .
To me it seems like a similar problem, but I’m unsure how to fix it. Help?

I can confirm that when calling a ring group from an extension, no rpid is displayed on the calling phone until someone answers.

Dd you try setting the “CID Name Prefix” on the Ringgroup?

Yes, but that only is for displaying on the receiving end. Not for the caller.

Ah ok, thanks for that! I figured it had to be a known bug.
