Two node HA system and renewing yearly maintenance on commercial modules through module admin.
Is there a way to renew on the slave node without having to swap master slave roles?
Can you activate purchased licenses on the slave node without making it master?
What happens when I purchase renewal for both nodes, click activate on master, upgrade the modules and then have a failover and slave node becomes master where renewed licenses are not activated for the new 1yr term and eligible to receive the updates I have installed on the other master?
Will that cause problems or do licenses get activated on the slave node automatically?
They get updated automatically, which is slightly different from ‘activated’. You can’t activate a machine without it actually having freepbx running on it.
But to answer your original question - once it’s updated in the portal, everything else happens automatically.
