Remote Extension, Drops call after 30 seconds, no audio

I’ve got a PBXact server and I’m trying to set up an extension at a remote site. I’m getting the typical NAT issue where it drops after 30 seconds and I can’t hear any audio either way. I have the remote extension pointed to the public IP address of the server and forwarding ports 5060-1 and 10000-60000. I’m able to register no problem.

I’ve added the remote network 10.105.40.0/24 to the local networks in SIP settings and that didn’t seem to help. I could have sworn I was able to do this in the past but I’m not sure what the secret sauce was.

Is the only way this is going to work if I have a VPN established between the two networks?

The PBX shouldn’t even see the remote private addresses, so that’s not relevant. However, you must set External Address to the PBX public IP, then after Submit and Apply Config, restart Asterisk.

If that’s not your issue, paste the Asterisk log for a failed call, including pjsip logger or sip debug, at pastebin.com and post the link here.
