Registration for '200112011282@200112011282' timed out, trying again

SIP trunks will not authenticate. I have checked the firewall and confirmed 5060 is open. I can ping the SIP provider by IP and by hostname.

Registration for ‘200112011282@200112011282’ timed out, trying again

[Nov 13 19:59:08] WARNING[3111] chan_sip.c: No such host: 200112011282
[Nov 13 19:59:08] WARNING[3111] chan_sip.c: Probably a DNS error for registration to 200112011282@200112011282, trying REGISTER again (after 60 seconds)

The number in the logs is my VoIP number provided by my SIP Provider. I have double checked it is accurate.

I am questioning whether it is trying to contact the correct host. My host shouldnt be my VoIP number or should it?

I am using my ISP’s DNS Servers.

Help!

it does not look right… ts supposed to be user:password@server

which is why the log shows “no such host” when trying “200112345678” which is obviously not a server address

if i change the reg string to:

200112345678:[email protected]:5060

and do a sip show registry i get:

Host Username Refresh State Reg.Time
ep.asterisk.rgns.net:5060 200112345678 120 Request Sent

200112345678:abc123@200112345678/200112345678

is the format my SIP provider has given for the reg string. does this look right?
