Problem with Install - asterisk from source and freepbx

Started with CentOS 5.2 Updated via yum (current 5.4)
Asterisk 1.4 FreePBX 2.5.2

Went through install docs

At the time of apply changes in the FreePbx GUI - I receive the following error

Bootstrapping /etc/amportal.conf …OK
Parsing /etc/amportal.conf …OK
Parsing /etc/asterisk/asterisk.conf …OK

Connecting to Asterisk manager interface…Fri, 23 Oct 2009 08:36:48 -0600 - Unable to connect to manager 127.0.0.1:5038 (111): Connection refused
FAILED
[FATAL] Asterisk Manager Connection Failure Failed to connect to the Asterisk manager through port: 5038

Any ideas or hints would be appreciated.

go to /etc/asterisk/manager.conf
write permit=0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0 instead of permit=127.0.0.1/255.0.0.0
save and reboot your system.
go to your freepbx page web and apply the configuration changes.
