Polycom Randomly Reboots

Hi,

My Polycom 550 has been registered through TFTP to a hosted server through endpoint manager for about a year now with no problems. I updated it to a later firmware about 3-4 months ago, and again no problems.

Just this past week the phone randomly reboots, at least once an hour, and after reboot it starts up and registers like nothing happens.

I’m not sure what details I can provide that would be helpful in troubleshooting.

Polycom on firmware 1.10
EndPoint Manager2.11.0.2.00Schmooze Com IncEnabled

I did notice my app memory is super high, 459/490 93%.

that seems high as I have no current activity:

IP Phones Online1
IP Trunks Online7

Just went down to 85% as I write this, and again no current activity.

Let me know what I can provide to further troubleshoot this.

Thanks

It might be work running Wireshark and checking for any unusual ethernet traffic. I found SoundPoint IP 331 to be quite susceptible for high rate of broadcast messages. In this case phone activates kind of internal firewall that blocks all incoming broadcast messages for few minutes. Including incoming ARP requests - probably dumbest feature ever, I would very much prefer phone crashing instead of faking normal operation.
This event was visible in phone syslog so it might be worth to set up syslog server (there are some simple apps for windows).
