The welcome message from the UCP includes the following fields:
Username: %username%
Password: %password%
But when the email is sent it’s being delivered as
Username: bob (ie)
Password:
The message is this way before it’s even leaving the local smtp server. Not sure what could be hiding the password.
It’s hidden because you are editing a user that was already created and didn’t change the password. We do not store passwords unencrypted
Thanks Andrew. That explains it. Perhaps a short blurb on the “?” of the welcome message letting admins know that the password will only be sent when it’s changed… or even better instead of the text “” it could read “unchanged” or something a little more descriptive.
