Paging Groups and Hosted Server

Hi,

I’ve had a request to set up paging groups with our Hosted FreePBX server. Paging individual extensions works well, but any group just gives a busy signal. I’ve read some posts that say multicast was set up on the templates but when I look at my Polycom template I don’t see any fields for multicast addresses.

Any clues would be helpful.

You need an IGMP open path to multicast between networks, unfortunately that is a very rare thing to find in the ‘hosted’ market.

OK, here’s some other ideas I thought might help -

VPN tunnel between server and router at our network

Set up a new FreePBX Server as the primary on the local network, use the hosted server as the backup

Thoughts?
