Outbound SIP URI Dialing from another trunk

Hi all,

I’m trying to get SIP URI dialing to work but not having much luck since I have a different setup. My setup is like this

Phone -> Cisco CUCM --SIP Trunk-> FreePBX -> Outbound

I basically use FreePBX as an SBC. It’s working for calls going out to a SIP trunk but I’m trying just to do SIP URI dialing to any domain. I get the following error from a phone on the cisco side:

Call from ‘CUCM’ (192.168.10.x:5060) to extension ‘test’ rejected because extension not found in context ‘from-internal’.

I was trying to dial [email protected] as an example. I tried looking online but all I got were tutorials for phones registered directly to FreePBX. I’m looking for a way to get SIP dialing from a trunk.

Hopefully someone has done this?

Oh, by the way, it’s FreePBX version 2.11.0.23

Thanks!

It looks like you would be better suited with a real SIP proxy for your needs, You really don’t need all the PBX functionality of FreePBX and asterisk is a back-to-back UA so will unnecessarily get in the way. Look into Kamailio/Siremis.

Thanks, got Kamailio/Siremis installed now, just figuring out how to use it now
