I get the following error at the end of this morning’s OS upgrade.

Thanks! It looks like there’s a conflict in the updated kernel that didn’t happen on any of our test machines 8-\ Investigating further now.

OK, you shouldn’t have 0.65-1, that was a test that shouldn’t have been available to the public.

Try ‘yum downgrade kmod-forcedeth’ - that should give you kmod-forcedeth-0.64-4.sng7.x86_64 which IS the correct version. That will then let you upgrade.


Updates required in the GUI, however, in the CLI it says my system is currently up to date?

I am getting exactly this issue and I have tried the fix suggested “yum downgrade kmod-forcedeth” but that is just hanging on 1 / 2 am I doing something wrong?

Okay so after a long time it did complete so just in case someone else reads this YES it takes a very long time to complete and also the subsequent yum update looks like its hanging but it does complete eventually.

worked for me too – and it REALLY takes awhile to downgrade the “kmod-forcedeth”

I may have spoken too soon - or - this is a different issue… I now show 48 system updates available but wont update?
