When the iPhone is connected to Apple Car, there is no audio during outgoing calls. The person I’m calling can hear me, but I can’t hear the caller.
Incoming calls work without any issues.
When the phone is not connected to Apple Car, both outgoing and incoming calls work without any problems.
Where can I report this bug?
CarPlay has many bugs since iOS 18 (see Macrumors Forums…).
It is of course difficult to say whether this is the reason. Did it work before under 17.6 or 17.7? What you can test: Install 18.0.1 (in circulation since Friday) and uninstall the Sangoma app and install it again.
Otherwise I would wait until iOS 18.1 comes (probably towards the end of the month) or test it with the beta of iOS 18.1.
Please report whether you have two-way audio through the car mic and speakers, with CarPlay not connected, but with Bluetooth connection between iPhone and car infotainment system:
On outgoing mobile voice calls.
On incoming mobile voice calls.
On outgoing Sangoma Talk calls (initiated on iPhone screen)
On incoming Sangoma Talk calls.
When CarPlay is connected:
On outgoing mobile voice calls.
On incoming mobile voice calls.
On incoming Sangoma Talk calls.
Hm… It worked today. I didn’t do anything, and I was able to make outbound calls all day while driving with Apple CarPlay connected. But when I call some internal extension, the called person can hear me, but I can’t hear them.
