New Contacts NOT syncing/visible to Sangoma Phone Desktop App (from PBXact v16)

My Sangoma Phone Desktop App does not appear to be able to find a new contact I’ve added to one of my ‘External’ Contact Manager Groups - Other Contacts within the same & other long-standing C/Mgr Groups are detected no problem (when I search for them), but not this new one (which I added the other day). Could it be something has broken with that ?

I’ve checked the log file (/var/log/asterisk/sangomartapi/browserphone.log) for entries that might indicate if/whether the contacts are being sync’d from PBXact, but it doesn’t look like there’s much activity in that log since Feb-2024 (BTW, it seems the Sangoma Connect/rtapi logs have moved from where they used to be).

Am I looking in the wrong place/log perhaps - How/where can I see if/when C/Mgr Contacts were last sync’d to the Sangoma Phone Desktop App ?

I’ve reloaded Asterisk, rebooted PBX & Desktop App, but nothing seems to trigger the new contact to be found when I search for it in the Desktop App. All existing/longer standing contacts can be found no problem.

I can raise a ticket if required, but wanted to see if anyone had any answers/suggestions here 1st.

When you try reload that time update-contacts hook support to run , you can check /var/log/cron if this hook or php script is running or not.

Or you can try to add/edit/delete any user for quick try and then check if this hook gets trigger or not.

If hook is getting executed then may be try to logout/login from the desktop client to confirm.

Meanwhile, I will check locally if there is any issue on the latest modules.

I just did an ‘fwconsole reload’ & this is what the cron log showed;

I can’t see anything suggesting a job/process called ‘update-contacts’ ?

do you see anything if you try above ?

What exactly do you mean by ‘add/edit/delete any user’ ?

Do you mean adding a contact to ‘Contact Manager’ and/or user to ‘User Manager’ ??

Also, WHERE am I looking for the Hook to get executed, in the cron log ?

ok, I just added a test user to User Manager (not linked to any Extn)

The cron log does now show some references to ‘update-contacts’, however, the new Test User & recently created Contact still can’t be found in the Contacts list of the Sangoma Phone Desktop App;

if you reload the app or logout/login ?

I agree, ideally it should work without doing so much , just trying to confirm there is no system or other issue.

User Manager prompted me to reload asterisk. I also Logged out, closed & re-opened/logged into the desktop app afterwards but I’m sorry to say, no new contacts can be found there.

It’s always been a bit unclear to me if/when new C/Mgr contacts start appearing in the Desktop App - For me, usually closing/re-opening the App will trigger them to appear (but this is the 1st one I’ve added for a while & quite a few related module updates since then).

may be now its better to raise support case, feel free to DM me support case# so i can follow up internally.

FYI, the ‘update-contacts’ hook you mentioned does also appear to get triggered (according to the cron log) when editing an existing C/Mgr contact, however, the edit itself does not appear to get replicated to the Desktop Phone App (ie. the Phone App contact still shows the original name of the contact I changed).

It definitely looks to me like something is broken here.
