Is there any way to send out a text to multiple recipients using SIPStation?
-
Is there a was to send an automated SMS through a script?
Reached for the FreePBX GraphQL API first, but the SMS subsystem does not appear to expose enough functionality to the API for this quite yet (or am missing something there, hmm).
There are other open source web browser automation test suites out there eg. Selenium.
BTW lots of rules on automated SMS in the US are changing soon - such as Application-2-Person (A2P) rules - so you might want to check out Sangoma’s 10DLC Campaign Registration Guidelines. IANAL.
This doesn’t make sense:
Any campaign that falls into any of these disallowed categories will be approved.
Did you mean rejected?
(post deleted by author)
Why does that matter for this?
It doesn’t; reposted to correct thread.
Fixed, thanks!
What rules are changing? Did I miss an announcement (which is possible)? But it’s good to see Sangoma catching up with 10DLC finally.
There is currently a banner at the top of sangoma.com which says:
Businesses must register their text usage by December 1, 2024, or outbound texts will be blocked. Learn More
Below are links to several articles produced by employees at Sangoma regarding 10DLC over the past 1.5 years:

You said a lot of rules for SMS in the US are about to change and threw in A2P but everything you’ve shown are rules that have existed for a 3-4 years now. Longer than the last 1.5 years of Sangoma documents.
So I will ask you again, what new changes are coming? Or are you just referring to Sangoma’s handling of 10DLC requirements?
Please consider this post from last month on The Campaign Registry:
The A2P 10DLC landscape has received a significant security upgrade. As of October 17, 2024, The Campaign Registry (TCR) introduced Authentication+, a new identity verification process designed to combat brand impersonation and fraud like smishing and spoofing.
Another (unrelated?) new finding posted by an external resource last month regarding a new DCA2 rejection code:
Over the last few weeks, many software providers have been experiencing extended vetting delays and increased rejections on their A2P 10-digit long code (10DLC) Campaigns. SMS API providers with impacted customers have begun notifying them that this is being caused by a newly required “secondary DCA (Direct Connect Aggregator) vetting”. Software providers registered as Campaign Service Providers (CSPs) with The Campaign Registry (TCR) may have also seen firsthand “DCA2” next to Campaign rejections in the portal, which also refers to this “second DCA vetting”.
Despite this new registration hurdle, there have been no changes with Syniverse’s December 1, 2024 deadline for getting all Brands and Campaigns fully registered, which is cause for concern for software providers with many customers to register. If you are being impacted by new secondary vetting requirements, it’s incredibly important that you team up with your CNP/API provider and complete registration before the deadline as remaining unregistered traffic (including pending Brands and Campaigns) will be cut off after Dec. 1.
Yeah, so this I was aware of and really applies to the registered CSPs (which we are one). It applies to when we create a new brand or update details of a publicly traded brand (such as Sangoma) the brand must approve all this via 2FA directly.
Yeah that’s one of those things they started late last year/earlier this year. I registered a new Brand/Campaign for a customer about 6-7 months ago and our DCA was forcing the secondary DCA vetting at that point. It was much more work to register a brand in 2024 than the previous three years.
This applies the one DCA, the only one that was still allowing unregistered traffic. I am partnered with a different DCA and they already did this.
But this answers things. I didn’t miss any updates it was just things finally meeting their deadlines.
