I setup the latest distro in Debian using this guide:

I tried to setup backup but noticed that there an no backup templates inside the menu:

Also, there is no option to backup any database, I can only “Chose” “File” and “Directory” from the dropdown. Is this a bug, or a restriction for custom installs?
You must be thinking of Backup before version 15. Since 15, there is no backup option for databases and there’s no templates. You pick the modules you want to back up from the Backup Items; Modules button.
