This has been asked a few times from my searching, but I haven’t been able to find a solution to this one. I have one ring group with 6 phones and the ring group is set so that if there is no answer, the caller will be sent to voicemail. The problem that I am having is that I would like to find a way of using the Missed Call Notification module or find an alternative way to send an email notification if an incoming call to the ring group was missed/not answered.
I tried setting this up on one of the extensions in the group but obviously, this will always send a missed call email if it isn’t that extension that picks up the call. I am trying to find a way of simply sending the email only if the call wasn’t picked up and still want the caller to be sent to voicemail if nobody answers.
I wondered if anybody would have any suggestions on how I may achieve this?
Thank you for getting back to me on this. This is the module that I’ve been using, but I think I must be doing something wrong with it. At the moment, with this module, I have one of the extensions that are a member of the Ring Group, with Missed Call Notifications turned on.
I am having a problem with this though, for example:
There are 6 phones in the Ring Group. Phone A, B, C, D, E and F. If I have Missed Call Notifications enabled for Phone A and there is an incoming call to the Ring Group - If the call is picked up on Phone A, there will be no Missed Call Notification email (expected). If the call is picked up on Phone B-E, there will be a Missed Call Notification email (not wanted).
What I would like to achieve is to have the notification set up for the Ring Group (the Ring Group is set up via the Ring Group module), instead of an individual user/extension.
Apologies, I read your post too quickly and didn’t provide anything useful. At present, the missed call module doesn’t honor the answered elsewhere option for ring groups, but it has been requested before. I opened a feature request here to explore making this work
