Created and saved template
Went into available phone aastra 6730i
added xml apps
saved and rebuilt
reboot phone doesn’t work
so I powered off and on
phone shows updating configuration and it takes a while.
aastra phone’s local url shows no change to progammable keys

What can I bd doing wrong?
I must of updated the configuration once because the time is wrong.
Any help I would be grateful.

Have you told the phone to use the Config files on the server?

/serverip/tftpboot?
In the phone’s url?
Yes with tftp protocol.
Maybe it needs trailing / ?

DOES extension need to be assigned a user?

No you would just define the IP not /anything

Here is my aastraConfig

Everytime I power off and on the Aastra It says updating configuration …and takes some time … yet when complete, nothing
and the time reverts to Sat. Jan 1 12:00,

does that mean empty config ??
I look at the server /tftpboot/.cfg and it’s last modified shows time I added xml entry in EPM
I look at the text it shows scrren name properly updated when I change in FreePBX–>Extensions–>302
The password in the .cfg shows ‘222222’ string of 6 '2’s. The handset only allows entry with ‘22222’ string of 5 '2’s
the handsets url won’t allow changing to ‘222222’ string of 6 ‘2’'s.
the epm won’t allow only 5 requires at least 6
Could this password string length be holding me up?
The URL allows changing only user password. Is admin hard coded to ‘22222’?
I am including the .cfg file if that helps.

/serverip/tftpboot?

DOES extension need to be assigned a user?

You shouldn’t need to include tftpboot, that is specified by the tftpd configuration. In your case the phone would only need the IP address of the tftp server.
