Hi All,
I am currently in the process of migrating a multi-site client from an existing on-premises FreePBX system (rather out of date) to a new PBXact system which we’ll host in the cloud to eliminate dedicated connections/tunnels between the client sites.
My specific challenge is determine a clean way to migrate their phones. I’m hoping there might be a better solution other than a complete manual factory reset on each phone to pick up DHCP Option 66 pointing them to the new server. While this does work, it will require touching each of a large number of phones when we do a final cutover.
During our testing, we’ve shut down the DPMA processes on the old server so it won’t respond to multicast requests, and at this point have our final testing phones on a seperate VLAN that doesn’t have access to the existing phone system at all anyway. However, the phones still retain their existing provisioning, so won’t reach out to the new PBX.
I’d greatly appreciate any further thoughts on this!
