Maintenance Notice tonight at 8 PM Eastern

Maintenance Notice

Howdy folks! The main www.freepbx.org site, activation/licensing and some other services will be down for a bit tonight, but the community forums are hosted elsewhere so should be fine during this time.

Date: Friday, November 15, 2024
Start Time: 8:00 PM Eastern
End Time: Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 9:00 AM Eastern
Expected Duration: 8-10 hours

Summary

Due to a manufacturer recall of a critical component in one of our data center Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, engineers are coordinating a critical replacement of that system during an off-hours maintenance window within our Milwaukee, Wisconsin data center. During this maintenance window, some services will be powered down while the UPS system is replaced.

While we expect the maintenance to be completed within the planned timeframe, we recommend planning for potential interruptions during this period. Our goal is to minimize disruption and restore full service as quickly as possible.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding as we work to maintain the quality and security of our services. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to reach out to our support team.

Thank you for your continued trust in us.

Community forum was offline during the outage, so was the mirrorlist.
It’s just come back online now 1.50pm GMT

Thank you, and my apologies for the incorrect notice – will reach out internally to see what happened, hope to update thread with details soon.

That’s wonderful thank you!

Also it would of been nice to be notified in many other different ways, like reddit, twitter, ur website, rss, etc.

I had 4 voip servers crash because our snmp checks yum updates every 15 mins and yum kept crashing because the mirrorlist.sangoma.net was offline!

(Yes I know we need to move to v17 and debian, it’s on our to-do list)

This is excessive, borderline abusive…,

It’s just what the snmp checks for as it simply runs yum -q check-update but I do need to migrate anyways from v16 to v17 anyways as i no the centos 7 is now eol
sorry if I sound abusive/snotty wasn’t meant to be

Once or twice daily should be more than enough

I will look into it thank you but sadly librenms polls every 5 mins, and the osupdate is part of the snmp poll so in fact it checks every 5 mins! Doh!

I’ll be deeming “Free PBX Community Forums” as an “essential service.”!!!
