.localdomain removal

Hi All

I am backing up my main production servers on a daily basis, and at first i received the mails (backup logs) from [email protected]. I then edited the hostname via UI and
nano /etc/sysconfig/networks. Let us use XYZ as an example … So the network file reads HOSTNAME = XYZ. When logged in via SSH, I do see [root@XYZ ~]#, meaning my hostname is set ?

However, when receiving my backup log via e-mail, i get it from [email protected]. Is there any way to remove the .localdomain from this address. I do not use voicemail to email therefore I don’t believe the from address is applicable. I did not change anything in /etc/hosts and it reads as follows.

127.0.0.1 localhost localhost.localdomain localhost4

Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
Daniel
