iSymphony and Jabber

I have what I hope will be a quick answer, mainly to confirm that I’m understanding what I’m reading.

If I purchase the XMPP Pro module and use a Jabber client, will I be able to see “Presence” information for each extension/user? Basically, will I be able to tell if JSmith (x100) is on the phone by looking in the Jabber client?

If not, is there any way of accomplishing this?

Thanks in advance for any and all answers.

No the XMPP is a chat only setup so it allows chatting.

We have a similar issue re: presence managment.

The best workaround I have found is: iSymphony (not using chat) and Spark Client and Openfire (Jabber Server)

Openfire has an Asterisk Plugin - this will show “on Phone” status in Spark Chat Client and you will be able to initiate a call to Chat Users via Spark.

I have found the plugin is not a 100% reliable for “on Phone” status, so your mileage may vary.
also, make sure you have enough ram on server, openfire uses java…

PIAF = 2.0.6.3
FreePBX Version 2.10.1.9
Asterisk Version = 1.8.19.1
