Is there a log to look at Asterisk API in raw data format?

I would like to look at the raw Asterisk API messages being sent between FreePBX and Asterisk. Is this available?

There is no API between FreePBX and Asterisk. FreePBX just writes out Asterisk config files.

OK. So FreePBX does things like write directly to sip.conf and it’s own versions of that? I have looked through those files and see how FreePBX autogenerates some of them.

I am working on a java app to access Astersik over a network so I was looking for IP packet examples of the Asterisk API in use. Is there anything I can get to collect Wireshark traces with Asterisk API? I’d like to start with something simple like collecting some version info properly.
