Is SCCP Manager still stable?

I have installed SCCP as per a few of the latest instructional posts on this site. And I cannot make it work. Just wondering if it’s out dated.

I’m not sure of the implications of the “manager” part of the question, but chan_skinny, the part of Asterisk that implemented Cisco SCCP, is no longer part of the source code, as of Asterisk 21, was marked as deprecated in Asterisk 20, and as extended support (which I believe means that Sangoma will not fix or enhance it, and any updates must come from the open source community) in Asterisk 18. (Asterisk 19 is end of life.)

It appears that there is a, third party, chan_sccp driver, but that was never distributed as part of Asterisk.

It has its own support resources, see GitHub - chan-sccp/chan-sccp: Replacement for the SCCP channel driver in Asterisk. Extended features include Shared Lines, Presence / BLF, customizable Feature Buttons, and Custom Device State. Visit our discussion mailing list for help and join us as a developer if you like.

Thanks everyone. I decided to stick with using SIP.

This is a good call IMO.

Tried getting Cisco phones to work with the default SCCP module for 3 months and failed completely. Flashed the phones to SIP & spent 4 years managing a group of ~70 Cisco phones before a Meraki broke the functionality of them. (Still haven’t figured out how they did it, but it started the morning after our MX updated it’s firmware.) Migrated to the third party SCCP linked above, flashed the phones back, and ran with it for about 6 months. Project has some real potential, but ran into a serious issue and there was absolutely no response whatsoever from them. Decided to throw money at it, switched over to Polycom phones, and have never been sorry.

In my opinion, the best way one could use a Cisco phone, would be to have a functioning Cisco Server to flash firmware directly to the phone. They work on SIP. However, I can buy a brand new 2-10 line phone at reasonable prices.

FINAL Update: After the waste of Time trying to make a CISCO phone work… I dumped the server, started over with a fresh install. I then connected a new Fanvil X7. It was a breeze to get a system up and running. If you came upon this thread because, you were curious about repurposing the older Cisco phones—DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME.

A lot of people go through the Cisco 7xxx phase and come to the same or similar conclusion. Perhaps mark your previous post the resolution for this thread.
