Internal calls - Extension to Extension

We have a single pbx install with 50 employees. When we make internall calls using local extensions I will set that up in call routing.

my question is does this involve the sip trunk provider or is it exclusively routing and dial tone without our sip provider?

This should incur any usage or a concurrent live right to the SIP provider?

Internal calls don’t need any trunk at all to work.

No, you won’t. it’s handled automatically by the phones registering. There are no settings required except for setting up the individual extensions. Once that’s done, you get local calling “for free”.
