Installing Chan_SCCP

Has anyone ever successfully Installed Chan_SCCP for the Cisco phones?? I’ve been trying for 2 weeks now. When I try to install the module I get this message.

I don’t know what you mean “install the module”. You download the module from sourceforge to /usr/src, untar it then you have to build Asterisk from source to build that module.

What steps did you take?

I downloaded the module to /usr/src and untar it, actually I had to download it to my PC untar it then copy it to /usr/src I did so much I can’t remember everything. I made sure I had everything I needed to be installed by yum install everything. then i went back to /usr/src/chan_sccp and ./configure, make , make install everything seemed to install correctly. that when I tried to install the module in FreePBX module admin & upload error. You said I have to build asterisk from source??? I had installed my system from distro from this site it’s the 64 bit version asteriskNOW & FreePBX I’m a newbie with this stuff, but i’m learning thanks for all your help.

Ok, I always make Asterisk also just to make sure everything lines up.

My guess is when you did the tar you did not do tar xvf xxxx.tar.gz

Anyway if you did the make install OK all you should have to do is comment out chan_skinny in modules.conf and reload asterisk.

To my knowledge a FreePBX module does not exist, just the Asterisk channel driver.

You can create the extension as a type of ‘custom’ in FreePBX but you still have to configure chan_sccp by hand.
