Please use shell escape string when choose password and username for FreePBX. I see this error once when choose the password with ‘.’ and ‘/’ character.

I don’t understand what you’re saying

Configuring install for your environment…amportal…freepbx_engine…done
apply username/password changes to conf files…sed: -e expression #1, char 33: u nknown option to s' sed: -e expression #1, char 29: unknown option tos’
done

This is an error of sed. So the username and password in /etc/amportal.conf are wrong. Try choose another password, all alphabetics, keep away from ., ', ", {, }, [, ]… sorry, i don’t know much about shell script and sed regexp, but this error is from sed, you see?

also means that you changed the default password to something else with non-standard characters in it.

I am also having the same problem… i am trying to install for past 3 day but i failed…

I had the same problem with Centos 5.3 and Freepbx 2.5.1 . I first had spaces in my mysql password. Then I changed it to one that had no spaces but an ! in it. No go. Then I changed it to one without an !, bingo, Freepbx is now running.
