If the DID isn’t owned by a specific person and needs to go to a group of phones then I usually use a ring group. If you have internal phones that need to be in the ring group, just put the extension number in the list. If you have external phones that need to be included use your dial prefix (if you use one) plus the number and end it with a pound sign.
So for instance I have a ring group that rings all my internal phones plus a couple of cell phones. Our dial out prefix is 9 so our ring group looks similar to this:
401
402
403
95551111#
95552222#
The pound basically means call as dialed so no matter what you put there it’s going to try and call it if the line ends with a #.
By default, FreePBX sends the original caller’s number as caller ID. If your trunking provider doesn’t permit sending a number that is not yours, change the CID Configuration in Follow Me and set fixed CID value to your main number.
Also, if you have any restrictions on outbound calling, be sure that an external caller will not be blocked.
calling in calls are received on extension as expected, once a forward or Followme is enable to outside…the routing option seems not taking place… 10 digits … also checked the option with RG using the cell numebers followed of #… not going out.
I already asked to the SIP provider to check about some limitation… will do the test … masking the call with a local DID, really appreciate for this information…
Team, thanks a lot for your directions… a new outbound route was created … anda Custom destination… added a Prefix … to dial out to those specific Cell numbers
from-internal,###########,1
and the calls are being routed outside Now…
