Ifup & ifdown incorrect permissions

Am having the strangest issue on my system (FreePBX distro 10.13.66-6)… went to shut the system down earlier and when the system came back up I couldn’t get the network to come up. I subsequently tracked that down to the fact that /sbin/ifup and /sbin/ifdown only had 644 permissions (and oddly owned by asterisk.asterisk rather than root.root like most of the other stuff in /sbin). I just upgraded the system to the 10.x track from the older track a couple of days ago so I thought perhaps some odd leftover from the upgrade.

I changed the permissions to 755 and was able to get the network up and running, but then decided to give the system a restart. Everything came up fine, but the permissions are reverted to 644 again on both files.

Anyone have any ideas on how I can track down what’s changing those permissions (and why).

Cheers,
Mike
