How to use the 'HD' feature of the (older) Digium D series?

I note these phones are HD branded, but I’m unclear how I’d actually get them to use this feature. I tried converting my file like this:

        -y -i /input.mp3 -ar 16000 -acodec g722 -b:a 64k /output.g722

but the file is very distorted - is this even the right approach? Thanks

(I’m trying to page a sound file to desk phones)

Do you have g722 working on “normal” two-way phone calls between the phones themselves ? Or is the issue only with paging ?

The phones being HD can mean software/hardware at the phone and/or it supports HD codecs. Need to review the specs.

As for the file, are the phones using g722 as the codec for the call? If it is being transcoded that could have impact. As well you may want to check it with an external media player to see if the file conversion is distorting the file.
