I recently purchased the commercial Endpoint Manager (EPM) module for my PBXact system through the Sangoma Portal. The license now shows up in my portal account, but I’m not sure about the next steps to actually get it installed and activated on my PBXact server.
Could someone walk me through the correct process?
Do I need to deploy anything manually?
Does it appear automatically in Module Admin after the license is linked?
Is there a specific “deploy” or “apply” step I’m missing in the Sangoma Portal?
PBXact GUI?
Any step-by-step help would be greatly appreciated!
I sent an email to someone (Your account Manager is:) I found in the portal. Basically, this is what I wrote them…
I purchased Endpoint Manager (EPM) through the portal, but I believe I made an error during the process and I’m unsure how I could have avoided it.
When prompted for my deployment ID, I checked under PBXs > PBXact and entered the deployment name “xxxxx897,” which the system did not accept. I continued searching and noticed under FreePBX a deployment name with a similar creation date (“xxxxx537”), which the system accepted. Without additional documentation on your site to guide me, I assumed this was the correct one—but it turns out it wasn’t.
Is there a way to transfer this purchase to my actual PBXact deployment?
I really at a lose as to what to do. Frustrated to the point of not caring.
The OP has a PBXact system, why are they even trying to buy a license for a module that is already licensed on the system? That’s the question of the hour here.
No, it’s not a question of the hour. The EPM is free to use with Sangoma/Digium phones, you have to purchase a license for EPM if you are going to use phones from other vendors. When you buy a PBXact system, you are buying a collection of licenses for the commercial modules including EPM. If you bought PBXact you don’t need to purchase a separate EPM license.
and right there I am using the free version of endpoint manager. So I may be incorrect but I thought if i wanted to use more of it I needed to buy it. That is what I tried to do.
as i said on the other forum
“Hey I never said I was 100% right here. I’m just saying there could be some more clear ways for this to work.”
Hi @x201_F12 EPM is what we call it for FreePBX… It’s known as 3rd party phones for PBXact. If you ordered EPM, we’ll need to get that refunded and you’ll need to purchase 3rd party for the PBXact deployment. Please let me know.
