How do I install FOP2 on PBXact

I have PBXact the latest update - is it possible to install FOP2 ? And if yes could it be done on the Appliance itself on the box, or I need another Linux system? (we use windows and I’m no Linux export)

In general, I would want to accomplish getting CDR/CEL data in a more meaning full way to be able to glean some KPIs is this the way to go?

Based on the license of PBXact that you agreed to “ End User may not copy, reproduce, alter, merge, modify, or adapt the System in any way” so that would seem clear you are not allowed to install FOP2.

FOP2 will not get you anything like this IMO.

Maybe you one of the paid plugins for it? I have not looked.

Probably thinking of this other product by the same developers of FOP2.

@lgaetz can you confirm this? What seems clear to Tony does not seem clear to me and in fact is of some concern as I work with folks who have added FOP2 and other third party tools.

I guess the full clause provides more context:

End User may not copy, reproduce, alter, merge, modify, or adapt the System in
any way including but not limited to reverse engineering, disassembling,
decompiling or creating derivative works, and may not take any other steps
intended to produce a source language statement of the Sangoma Software
contained within the System that is not explicitly licensed in the code as Open
Source such as GPL. Any modification of the System not authorized in writing
by Sangoma will void any applicable warranty.

On top of that here is the first blurb you get for PBXact Features:

The Complete IP-PBX Solution

PBXact delivers all the basic phone system features plus enhanced applications to create a flexible customizable solution. PBX administrators and developers can also customize the software to integrate third party applications and create a custom purpose built solution for their needs.

So yeah, FOP2 is fine to install.

You are right, this would be what I’m looking for
Now assuming it is ok with the license how do i go about installing it.

Sorry for my ignorance. As per the link I need to:

log into your server and run this from your server command line:

In the PBXact Im only aware of Asterisk CLI I can send a line and I don’t see the response at all

You need to ssh into the system to install FOP2

NO if you read the whole thing as in section 2.1

End User is granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable,
perpetual (unless terminated in accordance with Section 3) license to use the
Sangoma Software contained within the System for End User’s own internal
purposes only. This license shall immediately terminate upon termination of this
Agreement in accordance with Section 3 of this Agreement for any software not
licensed within the PBXact system as Open Source as found within the code
itself.

specifically

This license shall immediately terminate upon termination of this
Agreement in accordance with Section 3 of this Agreement for any software not
licensed within the PBXact system as Open Source as found within the code
itself.

specifically

any software not
licensed within the PBXact system as Open Source as found within the code
itself.

The minute you install non open source software the license terminates… give you 1 guess where enforcement of that has been aimed.

not playing that game

On the topic of this thread though it would be good for Sangoma to clarify whether Asternic software is acceptable.
