Help with Vega 100 setup - ISDN PRI Line

Trying to setup a Vega 100 so any help is much appreciated

I have enabled the E1 interface on the Vega 100 gateway.
I have then plugged in my E1 connection into the Vega 100 gateway port
It does not show in the interface list of the E1 gateway

Name Type Status

SIP -1 LAN 1 1000Mbit Full Duplex
SIP -2 LAN 2 link-down
ISDN-1 E1T1 link-down (NT ) [ā€¦X]
ISDN-2 E1T1 link-down (NT ) [ā€¦X]

however when I change to T1 the interface shows:
Name Type Status

SIP -1 LAN 1 1000Mbit Full Duplex
SIP -2 LAN 2 link-down
ISDN-1 E1T1 link-down (NT ) [ā€¦X]
ISDN-2 E1T1 layer1-active (NT ) [ā€¦X]

However I am in Europe so expected the signal to be E1 not T1ā€¦ please can someone advise?

Secondly I have set an internal IP address of 10.194.240.1 on the Vega 100 and then created a PJSIP trunk to the Vega gateway with no registration or auth, just a SIP trunk to 10.194.240.1.

The endpoint shows as actvie:
Endpoint: Sangoma_Gateway Not in use 0 of inf
Aor: Sangoma_Gateway 0
Contact: Sangoma_Gateway/sip:10.194.240.252:5060 9b3eb98ad5 Avail 66.157
Transport: 0.0.0.0-udp udp 3 96 0.0.0.0:5060
Identify: Sangoma_Gateway/Sangoma_Gateway
Match: 10.194.240.252/32

I have tried changing the trunk context to the below

  • first attempt - from-pstn
  • second attempt - from-trunk

Every time I get ā€œAll circuits are busy now, please try your call again laterā€

Please can someone help me get this setup as I expected the converter to work out of the box :frowning:

Any help is appreciated as always.

Any chance anyone could help me :frowning:

Honestly, Iā€™m not sure what youā€™re trying to do.

Are you getting Internet through the E1, or are you trying to get phone service (DS0) through the interface?

If this is a new installation, you might try reaching out to Sangoma and see if you can get some warranty support.

check the this link, but in chinese, correct the setting part.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I am trying to convert a PRI voice service that is delivered by Orange, to a SIP service using the Vega 100g gateway.

I have pointed my trunk to the gateway LAN IP, and tried multiple cables with the gateway configured for both T1/ E1, however when dialling, I get call cannot be completed as dialled.

Any ideas? I can send logs if needed.
Thanks

Hi,

I will give this a go, thanks

Call cannot be completed as dialed almost always means that the dialed number didnā€™t match any pattern on any outbound rules.

Sorry! my bad it keeps saying - ā€œAll circuits are busy now, please try your call again laterā€

In the logs, it passes the call to the trunk ā€œto_vegaā€ but then nothing. Maybe there is some logs on the Vega??

Either a misconfiguration from your side or your provider is rejecting your calls, in any case you should provide logs for a failing call so we can try to help you. Without logs it is not possible to guess.

Hi,

This brings the E1 link to show as up - thanks!!

My only issue now is that is shows 0 of 2 in service.

Will it only show as ā€˜in serviceā€™ when a number is actively being dialled.

Are you still having issues with calls? If so, post a log from a failing outbound call. What message do you hear if you try to call the PRI number from the exterior like from a mobile phone?

When I try from external inbound I get call failed.
When I try from my PBX outbound, the call is logged on the Vega but still get call get the number you have dialled is not in service

See below:

As per the log request, it is below:

Those are the PRI logs. You need to post Asterisk logs.

Call cannot be completed as dialed means the number you dialed didnā€™t match any outbound route pattern so you need to check that.

Regarding incoming call, what is the exact message that you get? If the call is reaching Asterisk and the inbound route is misconfigured you would be getting a message that says the number is not in service. If the call is not even reaching Asterisk then either the trunk between PRI and Asterisk is misconfigured or the PRI gateway is misconfigured.

Post the Asterisk log from a failed outgoing call and also for a failed incoming call.

if the pri is up and active, and inbound call works. please double check the pridialplan in VEGA is local , national or unknown for failed outbound call?

Sorry! Yesterday day was a long day. I have the outbound routes and the calls are passed to the Vega trunk. I keep getting All circuits are busy please try again later!!!

The calls leave my PBX but the Vega does not seem to be convering the signal. The E1 link is up.

Below is an update of the problem I face:

E1 interface is up on the Vega gateway:
Interfaces
E1/T1 1 of 2 in service
ISDN-1 E1T1 link-up (NT ) [XI.BIBBBBBBBBBBBXBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB]

I have established a SIP trunk from my PBX which shows OK
to_vega 10.194.240.250 Yes Yes 5060 OK (107 ms)

I am unable to make inbound calls. The call fails with the ā€œCall Failedā€ message on the screen. No logs are displayed and the ā€œCall Countā€ does not go up.

When I attempt to make an outbound call from my FreePBX (V14) ā€¦ I get the message ā€œAll circuits are busy now, please try your call again laterā€, however the call count goes up by 1 each time and logs are displayed:

Againā€¦ Post the Asterisk log. You keep posting the Vega log but we need to see the Asterisk log. In any case, your PRI is probably misconfigured.
