I am new to FreePBX so please excuse my ignorance. We have a primary voicemail, but I am trying to add a new one for tonight and tomorrow since school will be closed. I have created a recording in system recordings and would like that to play over our main VM. How do I do this?

There are many ways to do this with FreePBX. You might want to try the Announcements Module and follow some of the links there. When you do find an approach that works for you based on your current call flow, then try making some test calls before and after hours to your cell phone (and again tomorrow!)
For an answer that doesn’t sound like a weird AI response… This was one of the basic tasks in the FreePBX training. Probably something good to make anyone working on or advocating for FreePBX go through.

Creat an announcement.
Direct the inbound route to that announcement
Set the Destination to the voice mail box option without a greeting. This will allow you to use the mailbox but with the announcement as a greeting.
