FreePBX training

Circumstances prohibited me joining the team in Naples. Have not heard from them since they left.

While they are basking in the sunshine it just dropped 40 degrees in Cleveland and the snow is flying. It’s supposed to drop below 0 in Wisconsin tomorrow.

Can we have a status report from Naples please?

I didn’t make it to Naples either, I imagine the Wisconsin office is a bit chilly today, it was in the 70’s today at the Schmooze South Carolina Office. This office is great, the break room is fully stocked with premium coffee, lots of snacks, a nice couch and cable TV, I also have a private bathroom, with the best toilet paper.

Preston: The toilet paper is huge, personal comfort is very important benefit at Schmooze. You need one of these bad boys, I will sign the PO with Tony out of town:

Hmmm… what codecs does it support? Think we can get a template for EndPoint Manager? I hear those things take 3-4 years for new users to get used to using.

Hey Guys…

Talk about nice offices…we have a city employee who works at home…from Tahoe…been trying to get my boss to let me go out there for a couple of weeks to let me fix a little email problem. Maybe I could take one of you to help me set up a phone.
By the way…I do have some law enforcement contacts in Naples. Do we need to put them on alert?

Oooh, That is an episode of COPS I would love to see. “Hey is that dash cam SIP enabled?”

Living on the coast of South Carolina I have never had problems with getting people to fly in for meetings. When I was in the wireless industry I was the Sales Manager for a small CLEC/Wireless carrier and we had a wireless GPS tracking vendor fly in and literally was burning ePROMs on my desk for his hardware. He almost did a backflip he was so excited the first time it connected on our network. I later went to work with Verizon and in my training the data specialist brought out the same device (a couple years later) talking about how it was the cutting edge in GPS/wireless tracking… had to laugh as I had one of the original units sitting in my trunk.

Tahoe would be a nice change from the beach let me know when and I’ll add it to my calendar.

When I was growing up in South Florida my family had a summer home home in Incline Village. It’s on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe.

It’s a great area, I can come support you bill in case you run into any issues and need my gentle encouragement.

That’s would be a great add on a SIP phone. You could send SIP info messages to flush, turn on the ass dryer etc.

That is one device I prefer not to be video enabled. I have Skype’d a few folks while in the reading room, nobody thought it was funny, then again my wife says my maturity has been going backwards for the last few years.

I guess in a way it’s already an endpoint manager.

Looking at their website you can test them out all over the country… seems they have them located in hundreds of sushi restaurants…which is a bit unsettling for some reason. I would have loved to be sitting in the board room when that marketing pitch was made, “Let’s put these in sushi houses across the country, then send people for a test drive on our website, makes perfect sense.”

We are all alive and doing well. Been a long 4 days but another great class with 20 some people now much smarter in all things FreePBX. Time for bed and a 3:40 wake up call to get to the airport and head back to WI and the 12 inches of snow we got while I was gone.

Was a great class, I enjoyed meeting everyone… Tony I dropped you and email, let me know if you didn’t get it for any reason.

Not sure what is up, but I still can’t read/send PM’s on this new forums yet. SkyKing, to bad you didn’t make it, would have been great to finally meet in person…

Thanks for your concern SkykingOH & Preston

Tony and Phillipe really looked after us - thank you! Great class and was nice to meet some new people. Would have been nice to meet both of you also.

The weather there was a little rough to take, but we pushed through it.

good day I’m new with PBX in a flash i just want to know what is the way that i can use to put the customer on hold while there is not available extension the the moment?

Macky, probably best to start a new thread with your question, instead of posting in an unrelated thread.

You would most likely use the feature called parking - assuming you have it enabled. Transfer the caller to 70 and listen for the slot it is parked in. When you want to retrieve the call, dial the number the system told you the call was parked in.

Hope that helps
