FreePBX 15 backup: logs & emails require "Disable FreePBX Log"=No

FreePBX Distro 15.0.37, upgraded from v14
Backup & Restore 15.0.24

With Advanced Settings “Disable FreePBX Log”=Yes, backups and restores 1) don’t create a backup.log file and 2) send notification emails with empty bodies.

How do I put a stop to creation of huge freepbx.log files, full of “Depreciated function” and “Deprecated way” messages, without disabling other logging?
