I went back to a provider I had been using for 2 years. I had not been using them for the past several months. I have never had a CID issue with them.
Call receivers are getting “unknown caller”
Anything else to check?

I was checking it out. Seems the service is not very clear on what you are getting. So if I buy a DID, I will have to purchase the trunk service also in order to use that DID? If I read it correctly.
Also what is not mentioned is how many channels you get per trunk.
Anyone?
In the [general] context, which is in sip_general_additional.conf it has the following which seem to not want to change.
vmexten=*97
disallow=all
allow=ulaw
allow=alaw
context=from-sip-external
callerid=Unknown
notifyringing=yes
notifyhold=yes
limitonpeers=yes
tos_sip=cs3
tos_audio=ef
tos_video=af41
It seems that is where the system is reporting the caller ID from.
I see no way of changing this. Also “allowguest=no” is not in this file, or others even though I have “Allow Anonymous Inbound SIP Calls?” set to NO.
Any other way than to directly edit it? Otherwise I will be doing that
Thanks!
