The apt steps are great for upgrading DEB packages but not for FreePBX modules – the latter requires separate steps via either PBX GUI or CLI tools. More information about the process specifically for commercial modules is on our Sangoma KB wiki: https://sangomakb.atlassian.net/wiki/x/ooJNAg
Wow, that doesn’t sound good! 
And it is potentially unsafe as you don’t actually know what you are getting from unauthorized third-party sources of purported commercial Sangoma modules as these may have been altered at rest or in transit, contain other dependencies or changes to your system, etc. Please see previous related topic: Avoid walking the plank with expired modules
The FaxPro module is actively being sold, supported and developed by Sangoma; along with many other commercial modules that receive regular feature updates, security fixes, etc.
There can be some delay while items are processing on the backend. The recommended best practice is to renew before update expiration in order to smoothly receive new versions of modules in the future.
