We have the FaxPro commercial module running on a PBX with about 150 users. The largest consumer of space on the PBX is /var/spool/asterisk/fax; it is full of .tiff and .pdf files. Are these “temp” files that can be cleaned (14GB over 2 years) or are they necessary files. After some research, it appears that this directory is simply a holding area until the .pdf file is copied into a specific user’s subfolder of that directory.
I really need the space, but can not afford to have the client lose faxes because I deleted data errantly. Guidance is appreciated.
