Can anyone provide a brief rundown on the latest options out there for faxing? I have a lot of experience over the years with HylaFAX, using both analog modems and iaxmodem, but I know that Fax For Asterisk (FFA) is now out, along with more support within FreePBX for fax detection and the like.
I understand how HylaFAX is generally set up:
Inbound Route/Trunk <—> IAX Extension <—> IAXModem <—> HylaFAX
I am less certain about how one would go about installing and configuring the other options out there, so any insight would be appreciated.
