Fax Module - delete old files

We have fax module installed with a heavy using client. Disk space is starting to become an issue. I see new faxes come in and apparently are stored at /var/spool/asterisk/fax/, and then a copy is made in a user folder (whose name appears random), maybe like /var/spool/asterisk/fax/352/in/.

Can I delete the “temp” copy (I think) in /var/spool/asterisk/fax/ because the final copy is stored at /var/spool/asterisk/fax/352/in/ ?? Or do I not understand how the module store files?
