After what I though was a successful weekend of working on the PBX, I was adding an ADTRAN TA 908e and general clean-up of the system. All phones were registered, everything was working great.
The last item I found was a tech article about a PJSip advanced option ‘Maximum Contacts’. I was hoping this would help me with an issue that I am seeing with my softphone application and Push registrations. Anyway, I adjusted it to 2, checked it and it appeared have stabilized my push registration with my Bria softphone. I then called it a night.
This morning, I find that none of the extensions are registering with the system. When I ‘Tail’ the asterisk full log file, I see ‘Failed to authenticate’ and 'end point not found errors.
My SIP trunks are handled by IAX and are working.
I have a rather good backup system, or so I thought, so I restored to a few days ago, after backing up where I was. Still the same issue. I could certainly tell that changes had been made.
When I dig into the file system, I am finding that the PJSip.registration.conf file is being written to, but only contains one registration item. it seems that normally, this file is populated with every extension.
I’ve attempted to restore from several previous backups, they seem to have succeeded, but no change.
I’m not sure what to look at next, any help would be great.
