Extension/User/Endpoint: a little lost there :(

Hi

New user after years without using FreePBX and I’m a little lost about differences and links between Extensions, Users and Endpoints.
Do I really need to create some users ? or can I just use extensions and endpoints to get multiple devices (softphones, sip phones) linked at same extension ?

Users are typically used for Sangoma soft and desk phones or if you want to take advantage of the UCP. If you have phones that are not from Sangoma then doing Extension/Endpoint should work just fine.

Thanks for clarification so I’ll just create some extensions. For softphones I have to figure out later how it works and connect either Sangoma or Grandstream softphones on FreePBX :slight_smile:
