As part of Sangoma FreePBX and PBXact commercial module versioning expiry, dependency and security improvements, we are rolling out more changes in the coming days that may have an impact on your Sangoma soft phone use cases, particularly if you are still taking the suggested steps to Avoid walking the plank with expired modules. ![]()
Administrators of systems with users of Sangoma talk mobile app, Sangoma desktop client and/or Sangoma web-browser soft phone clients should check their maintenance renewals, licensing expirations, and POMPs (if applicable) to stay up-to-date with these changes. This can be done in Admin → Module Admin in the PBX GUI, via the command line with fwconsole, or at https://portal.sangoma.com under your Deployments tab that shows all of your registered systems – the latter being the best place to renew (in bulk) at this time.
When the the grace period ends, the expected impact of these changes is as follows:
| Platform | Client | Impact |
|---|---|---|
| FreePBX | Sangoma Talk Mobile App | No Change to current behavior (UI Blocked / No Calls Allowed) |
| FreePBX | Sangoma Desktop Client | UI Limited to Emergency Route Calls |
| FreePBX | Sangoma Web Phone | UI Limited to Emergency Route Calls |
| PBXact | Sangoma Talk Mobile App | UI Blocked / No Calls Allowed |
| PBXact | Sangoma Desktop Client | UI Limited to Emergency Route Calls |
| PBXact | Sangoma Web Phone | UI Limited to Emergency Route Calls |
Please note that upgrading to new versions of modules on your PBX server will automatically enroll you in these changes to how soft phone user clients operate. Existing customers wishing to remain on expired systems without the latest software and security updates are not impacted by these changes.
